Helping Vail Rubber Works Reach Their Hiring Goals

Business was picking up at a considerably faster pace than Vail Rubber had anticipated following the slowdown of 2020. They found themselves in immediate need of production workers and were struggling to find candidates.

After 2 months of a combined social and radio campaign, they reported 39 applications submitted that referenced radio or Facebook as to how they heard about the openings. As of August 5th, they had hired 11 candidates from those applicants and were still interviewing.

Radio Ads

After asking questions and gathering research, we put together a radio ad to highlight what Vail Rubber was looking for in a candidate and what, in turn, Vail Rubber could offer an employee. This ad played on multiple stations using a schedule designed to drive awareness.

Co-Branded Social Ads

Rock 107 WIRX teamed up with Vail Rubber on social media to further increase awareness and drive traffic to their employment page. We suggested they add an online application to make conversion easier for interested applicants. This was a first for them.

“As business was picking up at a considerably faster pace than we had anticipated following the slowdown of 2020, Vail Rubber was in need of production workers and struggling to find candidates. We contacted Mid-West Family on June 1st looking for help and Bob Bucholtz responded immediately.

Bob spent time talking with us and asking questions to get to know Vail Rubber. From this interview, he put together a radio ad that hi-lighted what we were looking for in a candidate and what in turn Vail Rubber could offer to a potential employee. He also had a plan in place for which radio stations we should run our ad on to reach the desired demographic and the days and frequency of the ads. At Bob's suggestion, we added the ability to apply online for the first time.

Our recruitment campaign began on June 13th and has been a huge success. To date, we have had (39) applications submitted referencing the radio or Facebook as to how they heard about our openings. From these applications, we have (9) new hires on the floor working and have (2) candidates in the hiring process. We are still interviewing!
